Democratic candidate Ross Miller took 40 percent of the polling and Laxalt 39 in the poll conducted Oct. 13-15, based on telephone interview with more than 500 "likely" registered voters in Nevada.
Ten percent said they were undecided.
"Adam Laxalt is on the verge of winning this campaign and that is why Ross Miller and his supporters are desperately lying about Adam's record," said Laxalt's campaign strategist Robert Uithoven, referring to Miller's TV ads. "Fortunately, Nevada voters aren't buying the story Ross Miller is peddling, and this poll -- along with the trends of many other recent polls -- clearly reflects that."
